DESCRIPTION:


Our client is seeking a full-time Web Programmer with excellent XML, .NET development, communication, and analytical skills for a career-enhancing position with one of our top regional clients.

Position summary
Focus on eBusiness and dynamic I*net (Internet, Intranet, Extranet) sites. Work closely with Sales & Marketing customers on defining project implementation plan, schedule, and site development. Sites will include XML and database driven, content/marketing sites and voice activated sites. They need to seamlessly integrate with legacy systems, add on systems, outside hosted and LDAP.

• Answer questions from site visitors and redirects messages as appropriate

• Develops and maintains application and process documentation

• Helps customer define business process needs and can communicate issues and solutions
• Recommends enhancements to business processes

Complexity of Duties & Areas of Focus
• Participates on small to medium projects; may lead small projects independently
• Builds project plans at the activity level; contributes to plans at the process level
• Analyzes site problems; designs Web applications; tests, implements and documents
• Develops, assesses and communicates website usage; maintains security processes
• Provides written design documents, test plans and test results

Technical Knowledge and Skills
• Demonstrates technical knowledge of several in-house systems
• Requires technical knowledge of commercial web development tools (such as Java, XML, HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver), multimedia applications, database and modeling tools, and Internet protocols
• BS in Computer Science, a related discipline plus 6+ years experience or equivalent

Key objectives
• Work closely with Sales & Marketing customers on defining projects, implementation plan, schedule, and development of dynamic web-based systems and eBusiness solutions.
• Have an excellent understanding of database design/implementation, xml, authentication and the ability to integrate with a variety of web applications and legacy systems.
• Develop applications using server side and client side scripting. Understanding how our web applications will look and run differently depending on the browser, operating system used or hardware platform.
• Keep up to date with the latest web technologies/tools and recommend what new systems would best fit our needs.
• Sites will include eBusiness sites that are xml and database driven, content/marketing sites and voice activated sites. They need to integrate with legacy systems and LDAP for authentication.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience using C#.Net, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Classic ASP, Javascript, VB, SQL, Oracle, XML, and MS Visual Studio.
• Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server and Oracle) as well as experience developing client/server applications.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Understanding of LDAP (Directory Services), Middleware, Enterprise reporting, and other IT technologies are important for success.
• An understanding of COM, Web Services and Remoting.
• Excellent communications and scheduling skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to conceptualize complex system and software architectures.
